A Pro Bono project taken on for Camp Sweyolakan, a camp located in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, owned and operated by Camp Fire USA, Inland Northwest Council.
This internal application, used at the camp store to keep track of inventory, sales, and various accounting tasks was engineered as an n-tier ASP.NET application. The application once finished, consisted of over 10,000 lines of code.
Extensive use of javascript and css gave the POS an easy to use, intuitive user experience. This enhanced interface helped reduce errors and ensured campers actually had money to buy their items, a problem which they faced with their older system.
Sales reporting features reduced the total number of hours required for the store manager to provide the proper accounting records. Reports could also be generated that broke sales figures out by unit and week so the camp could better identify which market segments purchased which items.
