Public Radio News Directors Inc
Public Radio News Directors Incorporated (PRNDI) is a non-profit, national service organization that encourages the professional development and training of public radio journalists. The goals achieved during this complete overhaul were: improved navigation, new graphic look, search functionality, and most importantly the ability for any member of the board of directors to update any part of the website.
Transforming the website from their old design to its current state made a huge impact on the site. Another factor that helps keep content fresh was the rss feed which is being digested onto the homepage and blends well into the content of the site.
The largest part of this project was writing a complete custom content management system for the entire site. The CMS was written in object oriented PHP with a MySQL database. Members of the board of directors can update every page on the site at any point and time and they eliminated their need to keep a web developer on the payroll thus saving time and money.
